ELEARNING DAN ROI, APAKAH BALIK MODAL?

Seberapa spesial hubungan ROI dan E-Learning? Pertanyaannya mungkin terlalu dramatis, tapi tidak ada salahnya apabila kita coba analisis antara keduanya. Bukan se-spesial apa yang akan dibahas, namun yang bagaimana pengaruh e-learning terhadap ROI serta bagaimana pandangan perusahaan terhadap benefit yang akan didapatkan perusahaan jika menggunakan jasa e-learning.

Pertama, kita akan coba pahami ROI terlebih dahulu. ROI (Return On Invesment) Menurut Munawir (1195:89) adalah salah satu bentuk dari rasio profitabilitas yang dimaksudkan dapat mengukur kemampuan perusahaan dengan keseluruhan dana yang ditanamkan dalam aktiva yang digunakan untuk operasinya perusahaan untuk menghasilkan keuntungan.

            Kedua, mari kita pahami tentang SDM. Sinurat (2008) mengatakan bahwa “sumber daya manusia adalah satu-satunya sumber daya perusahaan yang memiliki kekuasaan untuk merencanakan dan mengendalikan sumber daya yang lain dalam organisasi. Sumber daya manusia adalah satu-satunya sumber daya   yang memiliki kekuasaan untuk merencanakan dan mengendalikan kegiatannya sendiri”. Dari pernyataan tersebut saya berasumsi bahwa peran sumber daya manusia sangat berpengaruh terhadap pencapaian tujuan perusahaan. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan sumber daya manusaia adalah hal penting dilakukan oleh perusahaan.

Dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dibutuhkan biaya yang tidak sedikit baik mengundang mentor/trainer ataupun dalam menyiapkan hal-hal lain yang mendukung sebuah pelatihan, terlebih kebutuhan pelatihan dilakukan tidak hanya satu kali tapi berkelanjutan. Hal ini yang menyebabkan seringkali biaya pelatihan jadi membengkak.

Teknologi yang berkembang pesat dapat kita manfaatkan untuk mengatasi hal ini. Teknologi tentu bertujuan untuk memudahkan pekerjaan manusia. Biasanya, uang dihabiskan untuk trainer dan pergantian karyawan, penyewaan ruangan kelas, penyewaan infrastruktur, biaya pelatih per jam dan biaya kertas dan dokumentasi.

E-Learning tidak hanya lebih murah tapi juga lebih ramah lingkungan. Dalam hal biaya, bisnis tidak lagi harus dihabiskan untuk penyewaan kelas & infrastruktur yang menunjang adanya suatu pelatihan. Biaya pelatih hanya dibebankan satu kali karena bahan yang sama dapat digunakan kembali untuk beberapa batch peserta didik. Akhirnya, karena semua modul pelatihan dalam format digital baik melalui komputer ataupun perangkat mobile, maka konsumsi kertas berkurang secara signifikan.

Dunia memang terus berubah dengan cepat dan, sayangnya, perubahan seringkali terasa sangat menyakitkan! Bagaimana organisasi dapat mendukung karyawan melalui transisi ini secara lebih efektif? Apa sajakah pertimbangan untuk intervensi yang berhasil? Salah satunya adalah e-learning.

Kembali ke bahasan utama, bagaimana melibatkan ROI dalam mempertimbangkan penggunaan E-Learning dalam perusahaan. Setelah kita sedikit membahas mengenai ROI dan SDM. Coba kita lihat bagaimana perhitungan secara matematis antara keduanya, dengan mengguanakan contoh kasus berikut ini:

Sebuah perusahaan kuliner Jakarta Dely menginvestasikan dana awal sebesar 100juta. Di bulan pertama Jakarta Dely mendapatkan laba bersih senilai 10juta.

Melihat tren yang berkembang saat ini, Asia memiliki pertumbuhan terbesar dalam pemanfaatan e-learning yaitu sebesar 17,3% dalam rentang waktu 2014-2016. Dapat kita lihat juga dari pertumbuhan penyedia jasa e-learning, pasar LMS juga diharapkan dapat meraih pendapatan sejumlah $2.55 Miliar pada akhir tahun 2017.
